Table Mountain

I've been feeling really great recently. Maybe next week I will start to feel like I don't want to be pregnant anymore?? ... but for now, I'm feeling good (of course I have the typical aches and pains, but overall good). Although, I am ready for baby. My to-do list is nearly complete, I am on maternity leave, this list is almost checked off. But it's all in baby's timing (as long as she/he decides to come BEFORE week 42!!! please!).

Last weekend we went camping at Table Mountain in Wrightwood. I really really wanted to go to the Eastern Sierras but being that I am 38 weeks pregnant I thought we should stick to a 2 hour drive... and lower elevation.

This time last year we were camping in Onion Valley, North Lake, and Bolder Basin, ... I've been itching to get in a good camping trip this summer, but we are in a time of wait, waiting for baby. It's a good time, just different. We will get many camping trips in later with baby, and we can't wait!

Tomorrow I am 39 weeks... Oh my goodness!

even though it wasn't at the location you originally wished it could be at, this camping trip will probably be remembered as a special one. the one where you were about to become a mom.

congrats on a beautiful 39th week :)

Amanda I'm so excited for you! You are so close to holding your baby, can you believe it? The next week or two will begin to CRAWL as you get more and more excited and ready to just have him/her here already! Especially when you start feeling false braxton hicks and real labor eludes you. But never in my life was I ever SO looking forward to pain... knowing that pain, in this context, is exactly what you should feel and it is perfect (though painful!) Love you, You will do great! Do you have names picked yet?

Gorgeous pic of you and the belly in the woods! Definitely take the baby camping - it seems a bit intimidating at first but especially when they're small they're really portable and easy. We took our daughter out for her first backcountry camping trip at age 6 weeks. Popped her in a sling and she slept most of the hike. Looking back it seems a little nuts and I was definitely nervous but it was so much fun. I'm looking forward more camping with her this fall although now she's getting close to walking so it'll be a bit more challenging.

Soon you will be face to face with God in all its Mighty and its Grace. Don't worry about the pain just focus on the light that trusting your body will create. Blessings on the journey of childbirth..it is the grandest one of your life!
P.S. You and your baby look VIBRANT!
