What We Need is Here

I have so many ideas floating through my head, so much I want to do, that it leaves me paralyzed. I want to cook, I want to take photos, I want to go on trips, I want to be a part of projects, I want to be with friends and family.
Those are all good things, but ... what I really need to do is learn to relax.

What We Need is Here
Geese appear high over us, pass, and the sky closes. Abandon, as in love or sleep, holds them to their way, clear in the ancient faith: what we need is here. And we pray, not for new earth or heaven, but to be quiet in heart, and in eye, clear. What we need is here.
-Wendell Berry

It's a grey morning here in Boston, perfect for taking a time out with a cup of tea, and getting lost in your beautiful photographs. These three shots are just perfect. Hope you can take a deep breath soon.

I think you're right - you need to slow down & relax. Be still & absorb, hear. You need to be here.

For example, be here in Pasadena. One suggestion is you take a trip: walk all over this town. Observe it & photograph it in your great style. Get more involved with it by doing city projects. Make more friends in the city you share with strangers.

must always remember that "what we need is here." lovely photos, too. isn't it nice how photography helps you appreciate the small things, so long as don't get too wrapped up in taking a good photo (like moi--not that my photos are good, just that i obsess).
