Cold Brewed

Have you heard of this? It's all the rage.

I used to work at a coffee shop called: Coffee Klatch, it's where I met my husband. They have great coffee that they roast themselves, in store. And it's also where I built an insane tolerance to caffeine.

I am not sure what has happened since then, but now coffee and I don't get along. It makes all jittery, I feel really strung out, the floor seems uneven when I walk. I know, I'm a wimp. But I love the taste, so I'm on the decaf boat.

With a little pinch of almond extract, a little bit of agave and half & half, this is addicting.

oh, i'll have to try that with the almond extract. that sounds good. have you tried "blue bottle iced coffee"? it's the same concept, only made with chicory. google blue bottle coffee and check out - wait. It's here : http://www.bluebottlecoffee.net/Detail.bok?no=41

it's the new orleans one. divine. i know what you mean about being all jittery, though. i have to make sure i have a lot of food in my stomach to have coffee these days. lovely photos. i love the antique effect. is this all film? i think i asked that before... have a beautiful day.

Tifanie,

mmmm I have not had the blue bottle iced coffee! Looks great.. chicory!? I'm so curious.

Thanks for the compliment on the photos... They are digital, not film... unfortunately. I do love the look of film, so I play with the colors a little bit to give it that effect. But shhhh, don't tell anyone :)

It's funny...I'm not at all a hot coffee drinker, but ice it down for me and I'm all over it. So, yes, I've seen the recent surge in interest over that particular recipe, which has sparked some interesting debates in my house (as my husband is the hot coffee drinker). To cold brew or not to cold brew. And, like you, I am definitely in the decaf boat. I want to be able to fall asleep at a moment's notice! :)

Anyway, I found you through TasteSpotting and am writing to say that if you have any photos that aren’t accepted there, I’d love to publish them. Visit my new site (below), it’s a lot of fun! I hope you will consider it.

Best,

My husband just pointed out that I've been drinking Iced Coffee every day and I didn't even notice myself. Dangerous...I'm practically shaking for a cup of your version.

Mkay so sorry for the excessive commenting, but after coming across this post last night I went right into the freezer and found some old ground beans and made a big mason jar of the stuff over night. This morning I cut it with whole milk over ice, added a few drops of almond extract as you so inventively suggested, and sweetened with new hampshire maple syrup.

OH. MY. LORD. Heaven. Hands down the the best iced coffee I've ever had. Hope you don't mind but I'll be posting about this fo sho in the near future with a link back to you of course! Hope you and your huz and the pup are having a good weekend. xo
