GMO OMG

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my friend Jeremy's movie DIVE coming out on DVD and now he is working on a new project about GMOs - call him the "food activist!"

GMO Film Project Sizzler from Compeller Pictures on Vimeo.

I am truly excited about this film. Jeremy has been traveling around the country for the last month doing some more filming since this sizzler was made and what he has so far is already amazing! (I love the clip of the Haitian lady dancing, so beautiful!)

It is truly worrisome what is going on with our seeds (and what's going on Haiti!)  Isn't it just plain nature that we grow food from seeds and those plants go on to produce more seeds, and such is the cycle of life? (Finn explains it so beautifully in the sizzler.) Genetically modified seeds are changing that! Not only that they are being created to produce their own pesticides, and we are eating these toxins! It's all one big science experiment and we are testing it out... yikes.

Truly, these things should be labeled so at least we know what we are eating.

Why don't we care more about what we are putting into our bodies? A lot of what we are eating isn't really "food" anymore. Why don't we care about the ground and soil that provide us with food? We have lost a connection to the earth!

The message of this film is a positive one though, fret not!

" We still have time to heal the planet, feed the world, and live sustainably. But we have to start now."

Please consider supporting this film's Kickstarter campaign - $6000 more in 18 more days - we can do this, right?!
PS...  Jeremy's boys are too dang adorable in this film. I think little Pearl needs to make her film debut!

I couldn't agree with you and your friends more on this issue. It makes me sad that people don't realize this is happening in our world. Now off to help support, thanks for posting this!

This looks so awesome!! I just watched the trailer this morning after seeing it on Pacing the Panic Room. This is definitely something worth supporting!

On a random note, I think I saw you at Whole foods last week. Haha, I'm sure that sounds creepy, but I thought I recognized you from somewhere... and it was here! Also, I checked out your wedding photography and was surprised to see Philip + Johanna. My sister is good friends with them-- too funny!

Great video, thanks for sharing it. What an important topic for our day and age. Also what I find alarming on even a larger scale is what Monsanto Is doing (and has done) that the American public is unaware of. Funny how the general international population has rejected Monsanto while Americans are fed lies (among other things) and are having their freedom of choice taken away from them without even knowing it.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us! What an important topic and something that everyone needs to be aware of! It's such a scary thing that's been happening and so many people have no idea (and the rest of us feel powerless). I'll spread the word about their Kickstarter campaign.... only a few days left!
